Structural components of American-style transformer substations

The American-style prefabricated substation enclosure mainly consists of a base, side panels, partitions, doors, and a top cover. The interior is divided into a high-voltage compartment, a transformer compartment, and a low-voltage compartment. The high-voltage compartment features a robust and reliable compact design with comprehensive anti-misoperation interlocking functions, high reliability, and convenient maintenance. High-voltage switchgear can include terminal load switches and ring main units.

The transformer compartment can accommodate oil-immersed or dry-type transformers with a capacity of 1600 kvar or less and a voltage of 12/0.4 kV. It is equipped with an isolation protective net and can utilize natural or forced ventilation. Automatic temperature controllers, room temperature monitoring, and automatic ventilation systems can be added as needed. The low-voltage compartment is equipped with standard solutions for power distribution, metering, and reactive power compensation. Secondary control circuits and the number of outgoing lines can be designed as required.
